The Alexandra Timber Tramway is located at the old Alexandra Railway Station in Station Street, Alexandra.  The ATT is a 130 km drive north-east of Melbourne along the scenic Maroondah Highway via Healesville or, if you prefer, the almost equally scenic alternative route of the Melba Highway via Yarra Glen and Yea.  A slightly longer but very scenic trip can be had via Warburton using either the Acheron Way (gravel) or Reefton Spur (bitumen) roads via Marysville.  Stop off and enjoy one of the many wineries in the district or treat the kids to a picnic in the forest at one of the well-maintained picnic grounds along any of these routes.

Location

Entry to the museum grounds is by ticket purchased at the railway station.  Once you have your ticket, you can ride the train as many times as you want for the remainder of the day.  A large car park is located on the northern side of the ATT.  There are excellent electric BBQ and toilet facilities available on site.
